Estonia, a country in Northern Europe, faces the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland. Including more than 1,500 islands, its diverse terrain spans rocky beaches, old-growth forest, and many lakes. Formerly part of the Soviet Union, it's dotted with castles, churches, and hilltop fortresses. The capital, Tallinn, is known for its preserved Old Town, museums and the 314m-high Tallinn TV Tower’s observation deck.

In this region, there are many descendants of Scandinavians, as well as German, Polish and Russian populations, so the Christian denominations are varied with Lutheranism, Catholicism, and Orthodox Christianity, all in need of increased youth ministry.

Life in the 1980s, when many of today's adults were growing up under communist rule, was void of discussion about God. For many of them who are now the parents of teens, there is confusion about how to provide their children with spiritual direction. Churches in this region have asked Young Life FSU to partner with them to reach these kids and their families. As kids and their families begin to have relationships with Jesus, there is real potential for change! Young Life is excited to be a part of it by providing camps, clubs, family support and a close partnership with the church community.
